I am in the Go Cart stage of my MK IV build. Everything starts and drives great. I am using a complete kit with the Black upgraded FFR Gauges, and I used the Temp Sender that comes with the kit, so I did not use the wire in the harness, I went direct with the factory quick connects. All my gauges work, but the temp gauge. The needle moves when put the key to run like the other gauges, but never moves after. Is there a way to check the sensor or wires to the sensor? Is one a ground and one should be getting 12v? I am just not sure what to look for on my testers or how to test the wires/sensor.

Thanks for any help.

Take the wire on the sensor and ground it to the engine (with the key on). It should peg the temp gauge to high. If it does, then the wiring should be fine. Post what happens

Dan, Thanks for the info. I am using the factory weather pack connectors, it has two female plugs in it. If I use a wire to ground it, One will send the gauge to max, the other does not do anything. Using a 12 volt test light, neither has any power to them. I am not sure if they should or not. Maybe it is the sensor, I just do not know how to check it.

Thanks again for the help.

If the temp sensor is properly wired and the gauge is functioning properly, likely a faulty temp sensor. Are there loose terminals on the sensor? Also check continuity of wires to the sensor to eliminate faulty wire as the problem

I had a similar problem with a faulty oil pressure sensor (gauge was working but terminal on sensor was loose - replaced the sensor and problem solved)
