So, i've noticed we're all getting WAY to antsy about the release in not so many weeks. Enough so that we oogle over new videos so fast it breaks the forum (and kills threads, lol)

SO, lets talk about something other than what tire size we MIGHT see in the pictures.

My other projects are:
1986 Honda VF500F Interceptor. 16500 miles, found it in a garage, sitting for 7+ Years. resurrected and it's been my daily transport for a while. it's constantly getting little things, like today a new clutch/springs/valve adjust.

1987 Subaru Leone 3 Door. 200K+ miles. it's got a thrown rod, frozen crank, and transmission is the old dual range setup. WELL, i've decided to use the EJ20G i've had sitting since i pulled it from my RS. Should be a fun car.... soon as I get it going.

SO, what do you have going on?

It depends on how long it takes the 818C to come out. I can only do so many projects around the house before this thing is released. If we're talking 2-3 years before it hits production then I'll probably turn the WRX wagon donor I bought into a wide wagon. I'll have the donor operational by the end of summer so we'll see how I feel about keeping it and turning it into a wide wagon vs gutting it and making it an 818C.

Even though I'm a grown man and I should be beyond "kid cars" I can't shake my love for early-mid 90's Honda Civic hatchbacks. In preparation for my return to the US (been stationed overseas for the last 10 years) I picked up a slightly beat up 1992 Honda Civic hatchback. It's going to need a little work, but it's a good rust-free base. It will be my 5th 92-95 Civic hatchback I've owned over the years.

It has an Integra GSR engine in it (1.8L 170hp) but is otherwise stock. I've ordered quite a few parts for it that I'll install in a few weeks when I get back home. Progress coilover suspension, exhaust, new wheels/tires, some interior stuff, strut bars, front lip, rear spoiler, quick release steering wheel, stereo stuff, S2000 front brakes, etc. Basically going to make it into a economical daily driver that's still quick enough to have some fun.

I might plasti-dip it just for the experience and to see if I'm going to like it enough to do it on the 818.

Nothing special to look at, but it's overall in good shape and with a few tasteful exterior mods it and a better stance it should look at least halfway decent.

1986 Honda VF500F Interceptor.

I had a 750. Those were very good bikes. LOVE the torque from the V4.

As far as other projects go, I don't really have any that I'm serious enough about to commit to. The hunt for a good deal on a donor is consuming a fair amount of my time.

Got a few projects. Most recently I've been making a ton of parts for this fmod. It won nationals in 2011/2012. My friend bought it and we're making it faster. Lightening rotating parts, adjustable brake and throttle pedals (for different height drivers), a few titanium bits. Before the changes it could do sub 3 second 0-60, 2G lateral (continuous) and 3.25Gs (peak).

In between I'm upgrading my fmod from a 65hp 440 motor to a 105hp 500 motor.

I had the VF500F ('86), the VF1000R ('85), then later VFR750F ('94).

I have a very nice 1983 Honda VT750C Shadow (V-Twin). It isn't really a project exactly, but it does require a certain amount of "putsing".

A RANS Stratus XP recumbent bicycle, which I use for touring, which requires a certain amount of attention

My wife's custom Lightfoot motorized recumbent tricycle (pedal trike with a backup 1 1/2hp Subaru Robin 4 cycle engine)

Also, a 1992 30' Flair Class A Motorhome, which always seems to need something, particularly on the coach side of things.....

A 20' pontoon boat. Fully functional, but maintenance always required.

And then there's the garage. I'll be cleaning and organizing (LOTS of cleaning and organizing), installing various tools (parts washer, etc), and then insulating for a Minnesota winter car build, over the next few months.

17396A friend and I have a couple of project on the boil all involve Subaru SVX and also their engine which is the 6 cyclinder 3.3l.
We have a road car mule that we changing the ECU and adding wide band O2, cams, redesigned cooling system (move thermotstate to outlet of motor), reduce engine operation temp to 85C and raise red line to 9k. Goal to get 7l per 100k fuel encomy but have 260kw of power to call on when needed. Fitting car with 6 speed DCCD box to replace auto they came out with.

Building a mid engine SVX with a 6 speed gearbox using the 3.3l engine and later maybe fitting twin turbo's. This involves building subframe to hold the motor and gearbox so it can be bolted into the existing frame of the car. Engine has a dry sump to get it as low as possiable. In addiation individual throttles using BMW M3 units.

Second project is to get my daily drive a 1995 Subaru to 1million k's its currently got 700,000 on it.

Beautiful!

I want to build a P3/4 replica at some point. What engine will you be using? I want the genuine Ferrari sound, so I'm thinking of trying to source a Testarossa V12 for it. But this project is likely 10 years away for me, so who knows what will come up by then.

A trio of 1st generation Legacy Turbos.

A pre-facelift '91 factory 5 speed, clean but interior can use work.

A post face-lift '93 factory 5 speed, sideswipe damage on the far side. Good interior and a JDM drivedrain.

Another '93. This one a factory automatic, but an exceptionally clean body and interior. A ding near the rear wheel-well. The eventual recipient of most of my 'good stuff'. Non-turbo hood and grill are just placeholders.

This car is being built for enduro racing so the goal is to build a reliable and easy to source car. I cutting off all the suspension (its good but not great in my opinion it is the same as Ultima cars) and going with complete C5 suspension and factory brakes same as Richards GTM. Transaxle will be a Porsche G50, motor has been sourced and is the new Ford 3.7l V6. It 305hp and 290 tq stock. With a target weight of under 2000 lbs, that will put me in the 6.5 pounds per hp. I can always upgrade later to the ecoboost v6 and get over 450 tq STOCK!!! I'm building a race car not a show queen and from my experience its best to use STOCK off the shelf parts where you can and in endurance racing only those cars that finish, win.

To put it simply, I'm building a car with American muscle, German engineering and Italian styling.

My next project will be getting back to work on my GT design that I built a mock-up and mold for many years ago...I need to put the mold back together and laminate a body and build a chassis, etc..I built this in 1960 three years before the Stingray and five years before Shelby's Daytona. The only thing I would like to change is to a more laidback windshield..

http://www.sponaugle.com/post/TT_InstallFinal4.jpg

The never ending maintenance on my M35:

http://www.sponaugle.com/post/M35NewTop2.jpg

Switching to the E85 tune on my 08 STI. I'm now running an EFR7670 which makes ~475whp on pump.. so I expect I can squeak out 500 on E85

http://www.sponaugle.com/nasioc/Jeffs08STI-3.jpg

These three combined with my EZ30R based WRX means every day when I drive to work I am using a different software tuning system ( Hydra, Cobb ProTuner, HP Tuners ). I really wish they all had the same hot keys! :)

Aside from gradually restoring the running bits on my 2000 outback and engine swapping/tuning and modding my 05 wrx, I'm in 2 bands. Both of which are releasing full length albums this summer.

I'll update more later about my other band, the most active band is a new Progressive Metal group called Atma Weapon

wow guys, thanks! Once upon a time I was essentially on the track to be a professional drummer. However, because of all the crap music that obfuscates the market and makes it impossible...even in a small town to book a show or to tell people you're in a band without them automatically assuming you suck...I decided to get a job and now I take out my frustrations on subarus lol.

If you guys want to hear more of our stuff let me know and I'll send you a link.

What I found amusing was that I'd call that soft rock, not metal :)

I wouldn't call myself a heavy metaller, but I guess I might be! Definitely wouldn't switch stations if I heard it on the radio.

Besides finishing a new bedroom in my house to accommodate the arrival of my third child this month, I'll be reverting my Evo to quieter stock form from autocross and rallycross duty to serve as my baby hauler. I bought a sports sedan instead of a coupe, after all, to make it easier to fit two baby seats in the back.
