Erik, You deserve so many thanks for all you do for the community, but last weekend you were over the top, dude. The Autocross alone is worthy of special props. You got Dave Smith to put down the CEO mantle for a day and reclaim his rightful place as an enthusiast and (very fast) driver. And then to get the guy to actually ACCEPT his well deserved award was priceless.

You arranged, set up and MC'd the event with class and professionalism. And still had time to drive the snot out of your '33. That was awesome!

Doug, you're correct, TC also did an outstanding job helping out on Sunday. I didn't mean to overlook him.

Dave,
I'm humbled my friend. It was a proud moment leading all those fine cars in a moment of thunder and then a parade lap. The rumble of those twenty or so V8s was music to my ears and that made it all worth while. I did everything I could to favor the cup away from Dave Smith as I knew he would probably not accept it but on this day he showed that he's still one of the guys with a ton of talent behind the wheel so it was well deserved. Thanks to all the supporting cast that made me look good. You know who you are.
Freddie there are quite a few pics on the "Huntington Beach Auto Cross" thread up there. I was hoping someone got some in car video. I had my camera but it was set on time lapse. Bah! I know Dennis had his camera rolling and I think Peter did too. I'll have to contact them to find out.
Thanks to everyone that made it out. It was a bit warm but the driving was hot (or so says my fuel pump that shut down).

I have to add to this and point out the strength of the FFR Community. Dave Hodgkins here is sending out a big thanks to Erik! Dave virtually SAVED this event a few years ago by going to the town of HB (after we were banned cause our truck driver didnt move the truck off the pier back in 2007!) and Erik delivered HUGE for everyone at the track and none less than me. I said this before, but it bears repeating... The last four years have had alot of challenges for me and I have worked 6 days a week and those who know me well, know the personal struggles I have had to face and I won't bore any of you since we ALL have our own challlenges; Still, this weekend I was able to go and drive the wheels off my car and just have fun. Erik, THANK YOU. I truly enjoyed myself and as if 100 cars on the peir and main street in HB wasnt enough, having the chance to hang out and just have fun on the track was the ultimate... Thanks brother!
