Hey guys,
First of all I apologize for such a newbie/general question. I searched as much as I could and didn't get any info. Just a little background: buying a coupe kit is a long way off for me, I have three more years of school but I'm hoping to possibly get some drivetrain components relatively soon (for example, if I decide I want an engine that needs to be rebuilt, I can/will do that soon). I know I can't even come close to affording the actual kit until I'm stable but that will hopefully be somewhat shortly after school and it's a pretty motivating goal! Anyway, I haven't seen this question on here and I'm a little bit surprised about that but exactly which engines will fit this kit from the factory? I'm mostly asking about installing without any modification to mounting points. I'm pretty handy/mechanical (I have rebuilt cars), but I don't weld or anything so modifying mounting points is out of the question, and I don't want to pay somebody to do it. I know of course that the fox body mustang motors will fit, but exactly which other motors will fit? It will also be very helpful if you could tell me which motors will fit with a transmission (I know the coyote 5.0 will fit, but I'm assuming installing a transmission requires modification). It's also helpful to tell me which years fit!! Just knowing that a 351 will fit isn't necessarily enough, as I'm assuming Ford has changed mounting points many times over the years.

Summary: I know the fox body 302, and the Windsor 351 will fit without any modification to motor mounts but what other motors will?

Thanks a lot guys and again, sorry if I'm just being a nuisance!

You're right, the stock 302 and 351 fit the mounting points without modification. The 351 has height issues in the coupe depending on which intake you chose. the coupe hood is very low. Actually the coyote and mod motors fit as well, I just finished a coyote powered coupe and no welding was required to mount the engine or transmission, it uses the mod motor mounts available for many years. The coyote is low so hood clearance is excellent. The footboxes do need some simple modification because the engines are wide, but there is an appropriate kit from Factory Five. likewise kits are available for needed headers, oil pans, etc. The coyote is an awesome package in this car! it is an absolute blast to drive and stone cold reliable.

Awesome man, thanks! If it seems like it will be within budget the coyote is the route I'll be going.
