Since the 818's are going to use standard 5th generation Toyota Camry headlights, I found a DIY with pictures, but it's really quite easy. I've done the retrofit to a couple cars before and not only does it improve the lighting output and quality, but it also will do quite a bit of good for aesthetics of the 818 also.

Does anyone know if we are getting the headlights with the inside chrome or are we getting black?

Here's the DIY: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/104-5th-6th-generation-2002-2006-2007-2011/157663-short-diy-projector-retrofit-56k-get-broadband.html

NOTE: Personally I wouldn't do the halo lights and I would select a different projector shroud as well, I think the one he chose is pretty ugly to be honest.

A good source for a complete retrofit kit is www.theretrofitsource.com and will run you from about $280 up to around $500 with everything you need.

After having projector headlights on my last several cars, I hate standard halogen lights, so this is a must-have for me. Just thought I would share. :)

Nice find. I retrofitted my 06 WRX halogen projectors with TSX HID projectors. Incredible difference. I wanted to do the same with the 818, but couldn't find any writeups with a quick search.

Its been stated that the units are the black ones from the Camry SE (now there's an oxymoron: Camry sport edition;)).

Good info, thanks for sharing!

I've used theretrofitsource before. Really good people to work with. I've used the mini h1 kits in a few different bikes and cards. The reeks are amazing for the cost. One bike I did was a cbr1000. A small headlight with very little space to mount a projector. The kit would light up a ehole freeway at night. For you socal guys im talking about lighting up the whole 405 right next to south coast plaza on low beams only. Keep in mind they were slighty high because of being in my bike but u get the point I hope. I paid about $360 for my kit which included their hid kit. I'll try to find some pics and post them up.
