Hello FF forum members!

I'm Sean Mahoney, a fellow FFR freak (Mk3 in 2006), and graphic design nerd. I have been working off and on for 3 + years on a virtual custom shop. Although certainly not without its flaws, I am excited to announce the private release of HRF 1.0 beta.

I started with FFR and Ford because I have lots of experience with those cars, and they have very solid forums support which is valuable during beta testing. My primary goal is to provide a FREE, simple tool that produces incredible renderings, with realistic paint finishes, wheels, tires, etc. -- eye candy. I am a designer by trade, and am consistently frustrated by the lack of quality visualization tools from auto aftermarket and paint companies.

The larger goal is to bring on some large finish companies like SW, BASF, or Dupont, a few wheel companies, and so forth. The paint booth is really what sets this thing off, because if you even know a little Photoshop (or other photo editing tools), you can do complete custom designs, very easily. We can also mix any paint, including candies, metallics, color shifting, pearls, satins, etc. And, we can build any car. The built-in social sharing component is going to be pretty cool, but we have it disabled for the beta.

No software needs to be installed. When you have a few minutes to test drive it, here's the login info:

site: hotrodfantasy.com (http://www.hotrodfantasy.com)
pw: hrf2013

The home page is basically a slide show. Setup an account, login, and you're off to the races. Drive it like you stole it! I would really like to hear your thoughts and suggestions as we continue improving HRF prior to our public launch. Please keep this information private until we make the public announcement. I will be inviting Vintage Mustang Forum members in a day or so.

The Feedback button on each page can be used to send immediate comments on that specific page, so please let us hear from you.

Thank you and enjoy!

Sean Mahoney

Sean,

I just used the site and it is great! I highly recommend it to anyone. Can we add Flames to the Hot Rod?

Great Job!

Thanks! We have one flame design available, and you select it during the paint stage. Your base and accent colors will be unaffected (flames will go "over" them. The flames will take on the finish of your paint (gloss or satin). Further, you can visit our Custom Designs page (button at lower center of "Your Garage" page:

http://www.hotrodfantasy.com/custom-cars/

You can literally apply ANY design you can imagine. Download the template, follow the instructions, and email it to us. This process will be automated at some point after beta. Please share your images on the forum, as all feedback is appreciated.

Thank you!

Hey Quarterwarrior, thanks! There is a flame scheme available for the '33s now, and it works with the base and accent paint colors. It also picks up the finish, whether it be satin or gloss. Glad you enjoyed it! For anyone who wants to do something completely original, go to the Custom Designs section, accessible from the "Your Garage" page where your garage bays are located. It's bottom center of the screen. From there, select "Learn about custom paint jobs" and you can find all of our templates, and instructions on how to use them. It's a little beyond "simple," but if you're comfortable in a simple image editing program, it should be no problem.

We've really enjoyed watching all of the cool cars go through the system today. It was a great first day of beta! Thanks everyone!--Sean

Hey, Sean and thanks for the extreme effort - I'm interested in having my accessories available to the guys for using in their rendered designs. I'll look forward to this project.

All the best, Don

Hi Don! Products like yours would be considered "configurations" during the build stage, and would show up as rendered images in the section where you choose roll bars, bumpers etc. and that is exactly where we are heading with this portion of the project. Hoods, scoops, wings, tops and even engine choices. Believe it or not, we have a 427 side-oiler in this model. At some point we will post the "Hood Open" angle in the Camera Angles selections for everyone to use. Have you seen the GTM angle, showing the LS engine? Thank you, and I will be in touch!--Sean

Hey Jay,

We are taking the next few weeks to work out a few wrinkles, and add some horsepower to the rendering speed. I expect that July will bring a version of HRF worth waiting for. Thank you for your interest...and patience!
