Okay, okay, so it's a Chevrolet... 1950 C3600 to be exact. I couldn't pass it up, though. It was part of a local fourteen car collection that was being sold off by the widow of the owner. I actually went there to check out a '47 Ford with a '53 Mercury flathead V8, but fell for this one, instead. Originally a pretty solid South Dakota truck with a ten-plus year old restoration that's holding up fairly well, given that it has lots of miles on it since then. The lettering on the door is vinyl and I was thinking of removing it, but I sort of like how it fits with the vintage work truck looks. It's really a nice driver and 10 footer that I plan to use to haul stuff around, pull the Cobra on a trailer every now and then, and take to cruise nights. It's equipped with the "Thrift" six engine and a four-speed on the floor. The 3600 is their 3/4 ton truck, so it's got a useful payload. For a 63 year old truck, it drives really well - tracks nice, pulls great, and is fairly comfortable (at least on a cool spring day). It's been sitting for around a year, so it needs some maintenance, but should be up and on the road regularly in a week or two - just in time for nice weather.

In the immortal words of people on the Garage Journal when some scores a really good deal ... "You suck!" :)

Seriously - looks like a great truck, and in really good shape considering it's age and so on. I know you'll have fun with it.

Reminds me somewhat of my "next-in-line" for after the Cobra is done ... the '53 Ford F100 I drug home last fall.

Mine needs a bit more work than yours, but it has real promise. 6 cylinder, automatic, was sitting in a covered shop and not registered since 1993.

Like yours, it's destined to be a semi-daily driver, "grocery getter", and etc

The lettering is cool.
I'd leave it, or add something new of your own, but the lettering adds to the already beautiful truck..
I'm envious..lol

Lynn - that F100 of yours is sweet... I really love the patina of an original unrestored truck. Hope you only do mechanical stuff to it and keep that time-worn look.
