Are they pressed in? Can they be removed and re-installed?

Thanks

If that are the FFR tubular ones like one the Type 65 Coupe they screw in but may need to be heated to loosen any Loctite that may have been used.

Bill, I thought the lower arms were a press in ball joint, the uppers of course are screw in Chrysler parts, but the lowers I could have sworn were pressed in. Not sure on options of changing them out, has to be a way right?

Hey Guys LOWER ball joints are pressed in, the UPPERS are screw (turn) in. this is still the way we are sending them out. Joe@FFRTECH

Thanks Joe. Once I press them out, can I put them back in after repowdercoating the control arms?

I just have to ask. W/ the car you are building I am trying to figure out what color other than black you are going to use.

Hi Craig
I am modifying the front lower tubular control arms with rod end bearings. I have fabricated a welding jig to take to the fabricator. He will remove the ball joints, cut the ends off the control arms, and weld on rod ends. To do this he'll have to grind the powdercoating off the arms to weld. I'll take the arms to the powdercoating shop to have them blasted and redone in gloss black. I'll post pictures of before and after when they're done in a few weeks

Why are you modifying the lower arms? What do you gain by doing so?

Adjustability. Better performance.

Fast Freddy and Casey Design used to do rod ends on the inner ends of the LCAs. Have you seen them? Still need PCing of course. Or maybe POR15 would be OK. Well it would be OK, but I understand may not meet your standards. Just trying to give you alternatives that I am aware of, not trying to change your mind. HTH

I prefer to have them powdercoated like they're now. I know, I'm very anal when it comes to building these cars
