I previously asked if 295/50R15's would fit on rear of MK IV with FFR's 15" Halli-type wheels. Response was yes, fine. Also advised to stay with my front tire choice of 235/60R15.

I'm installing ABS, so am thinking of going with 245/60R15's on the front to more closely match the diameter of the 295/50R15's on the rear. Any issue with the front 245's?

Edit: tire size corrected.

I am guessing you mean 245/60/15s (26.6" tall) if you are trying to match the fronts with the rears in terms of diameter? If not, 245/50/15 (24.8" tall) would not be a problem fit wise, although it is a little bit short and raising the chassis back up on the coil-overs does compromise the suspension geometry a bit. The wheel wells in the front are smaller in diameter than the rear and will not fit the same maximum diameter, so the 245/60/15 would not be a good fit on a MKIV. The 235/60/15 is pretty much the max in terms of diameter at just above 26 inches.

Jim,

Thanks for the information. It answers questions I had as well.

Thanks, Jim

Yes I did mean 60 instead of 50. Hmmm...I'll have to think twice about the ABS fit issue.
