I'm going to have a lot of these, so I might as well put them all in one place.

Looking at the cockpit aluminium, do the seatbelt holes match up? Mine don't, and I'm not sure if it's correct. The Panels all sit flush on the bottom, but where the seatbelt comes out, it doesn't look right.

Any thoughts?

I'm trying to mark/drill everything before I take it all off for the first time.

Martian, If the cut out were higher there would be a greater chance of fraying the belt over time where they pass through the panel. Looks about right to me.

yup, that is the way you want it. When you drill (and rivet) the lower row of rivets (which you should do first) the top will fall right into place.

I thought that when I was getting ready to post. I assume the seatbelt bezels won't interfere at all?

Many thanks.

The next round of sill questions is called "Name that panel and where does it go?"

If anybody can help me figure out what there are, or where they go, it would be appreciated. Or even where I can look up the part numbers to figure out what they are would also be helpful.

Two of these in the boxed aluminium from FFR - 10638 and 10566

I have no idea where this goes?
http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u568/Martin_Stutchbury/RHD%20Factory%20Five/ZZ%20Silly%20Questions/2013-04-06091508_zpseb859e35.jpg

Roadster block off plate - is this for the F-panel?
http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u568/Martin_Stutchbury/RHD%20Factory%20Five/ZZ%20Silly%20Questions/2013-04-06091502_zpsf002bfc4.jpg

These two pieces look like they are for a wheel arch or something.

I have a gap in some panels. This is the passenger footbox just below the line of the dash on the floor. Is that gap supposed to be there, or is there another panel that I need to put in place? Or is it just that I haven't got everything lined up yet?
http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u568/Martin_Stutchbury/RHD%20Factory%20Five/ZZ%20Silly%20Questions/2013-04-06090937_zps1bc72e88.jpg

I have another gap on the drivers side (RHD)
http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u568/Martin_Stutchbury/RHD%20Factory%20Five/ZZ%20Silly%20Questions/2013-04-06090854_zps055bd056.jpg

Am I supposed to push the firewall against the footbox and rivet them together? I have a small gap, and it will take some force or bending to get them to line up
http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u568/Martin_Stutchbury/RHD%20Factory%20Five/ZZ%20Silly%20Questions/2013-04-06090906_zps6a11886c.jpg

Any and all help appreciated. I was given permission to spend the day in the garage on the car. It is so cold out there today that after about 5 minutes of taking photos I gave up. My hands were turning blue.

The 1 st phot is for the donorheaadlight switches, most people do not use.
Next pic is upper panels for firewall
14582 is under door panels
next 4 are splash guards for wheel well
That small square pice with angle is for center of cockpit behind the shifter panel
As an FYI, the p/n areon the inventory sheet and tell you what they ae, it may help

#10638 & 10566---
Used for mounting donor headlight & flasher switches

"Two more"---
RH firewall extensions; the one with the hole accepts the donor wiring harness grommet and the other obviously does not.

#14582 & 13642---
Vertical under door panels

#10861 & 10865---
Front splash panels

#14585 & 14587---
Rear splash panels

#10907 & 10908---
Nose aluminum side panels

"Roadster block off plate"---
A variety of block offs for unused openings

"These two pieces look like they are for a wheel arch or something"---
Horizontal under door panels

You'll find that with some massaging, pushing and pulling you will be able to close most of the panel gaps.

Cheers,
Jeff

bil102 - that's great. Thank you. There were a lot of head slapping and "of course" as I read your responses.

I haven't been able to find the inventory sheet yet. I'm not sure where it is and I've at least opened most boxes if not pulled things out to take a look.

Jeff - thank you. Two great responses in a matter of minutes.

I don't know quite how they fit yet, but at least I can start to puzzle over it and know exactly where they are supposed to go.

I'll persevere with the massaging to see if I can get them to fit as well to close the gaps.

If FFR can't supply you w/ an inventory list, I bet some of the guys here could scan and change to pdf format and email sheets to you. If worst comes to worst I have one friend building a MkIV now and another who has a scanner so let us know.

Your inventory sheets should have come in an envelope taped to your hood when it was delivered.
I have seen some use 10638 and 10566 as under dash support panels where the short end is riveted to the 2" piece and the long side is screwed to the lip on the dash panel. I didn't use mine though since I just made an under dash panel.
Like others have said, "massage" the panels into place, then drill the hole where it will go and hold it into place with clecos. On the difficult areas, I siliconed then clecoed the panels into place then riveted every other hole then removed the clecos as I riveted the rest.

Oh, BTW, these panels go on after the body is installed. They go below the door and are riveted to the 3/4" bar to seal the hole between the body and frame. You will carpet it after installation.

Your inventory list (it's really a book!) is in a large Manila envelope, usually with the manual in box 1 or 2. Keep It handy, it is referenced often to find whatever particular part you are looking for..ie, radiator is in box 16b or something crazy like that. Parts are not necessarily where you might think they should be, and the boxes don't always go in order. Also, things added at the last minute or special options are often in the last box, in my case it was box 19. There were some suspension parts in there added at the last minute that I needed right away! Keep ur list handy, it is individualized for every kit. There is a general master list in the manual as well.

Hi,
If you have the build manual there is a inventory list in the back, appendix C. This was in Mk3 electronic manual anyway. That is how I matched up my part number questions. Hope it helps, Marlin
