My sons and I build a factory five in 2004. However, we want to convert it to a 4 barrel. What do we need to do. Please advice.

Need some more information. Need details about what engine you have and any work done to it (e.g. heads, cam, etc.). Also assume you mean convert from fuel injection to carb?

In very simple terms, the change requires removal of the intake and all related fuel injection components including sensors, computer, etc. Then replace the intake and add the carb. Assume you have an electric in-tank fuel pump? You will need to regulate that down. Carbs take way less pressure than injection. But those are all just generalities.

Edwardb's right - it would be helpful to know a little more about the motor. Another thing I'd mention is that it could be tricky to regulate the existing electric pump down. Instead, you might consider switching pumps altogether - a lot of people run a mechanical pump right on the motor.

The computer controlled ignition will need to swapped out as well. just buy a distributor for a 85 5.0 HO Mustang.
