View Full Version : Coyote Upper/Lower Coolant Hoses-Better Solution?

Has anyone come up with a better solution for the Coyote Upper/Lower Coolant Hoses to the FFR Radiator? Since the lower is a generic hose, has anyone tracked down one 'off the shelf' with a decent set of bends that may work? The upper has the specific Ford connector, so I think I'm stuck with a connector of some sort. The FFR bendable hose looks so mismatched being silver, so I'm trying to avoid using it at all costs.

Call Breeze; I recall from another forum that they were going to come up with something fitting.

I believe someone said the F-150 Coyote upper works well with the FFR Radiator.

This is a 2012 F150 with the Coyote motor. Just have to cut a bit off the end. It comes with the clip and orings. Its not clear that it does on fords diagram.

Let me know what you think of it.

Thanks for the pics.

What is the "Y" below the throttle body? And what does the hose there connect to?

No brainer, ordered one (MOTORCRAFT KM-5114) - $25 on eBay.

David, what are you using for the lower? Looks like one piece from what I can see...

Thanks
Kevin

The hose going up on the Y is installed on the motor from the factory. You make the other two connections (one to the top of the radiator and one to the bottom of the radiator). The third one on the Y is something to do with coolant flow before the thermostat opens.

How does one fill the cooling system on the coyote?

What lower hose is used?

Yay! I hope I see where Mark is going with this...can we expect something nice in the form of a good-looking cooling system kit?

Mark, the stock motor uses an expansion tank. FFR provides a flexible metal tube for the lower hose. A solid tube like you have done for others would be nice. I'll probably try to make something like that.

Mark - do you happen to have a pic of the lower hose kit installed? Wondering how it is routed and if it will work in my setup. I have a lot of stuff mounted in the way on the X-braces.
