Just saw this video on Mashable of Jeff Gordon and Pepsi having a little fun with a car salesman. Thought you all might get a laugh out of it.

WARNING: Some mild language that is bleeped out.

Very Cool. I did that to a salesman about 8 years ago because he told me to drive it like I owned it. Well not quite like that, but very spirited. By the way I wound up buying the car.

Did the same thing to a Porsche salesman once. Got up on the freeway and nailed it. Didn't go above the speed limit, but reached it really quickly. He asked what I did and when I told him, he made me take the car back to the dealership.

If I was the salesman in the video, I'd demand to drive Gordon's car just to make things even.

I'm still laughing. That was great. At the end, the salesmen cooled down quickly and asked: Do you want to do it again?

Pretty funny video for sure, though not sure I am buying it as not being totally set-up. The silver car spining out and the drive through the docks are just a bit much for a prank.

George-

That was the greatest thing for me too.... "you want to do it again?" Classic!!!

Regards,

Steve

Yes, I don't buy it for the same reason. Still funny though.

I'm wondering if everyone was in on it but the salesman. So the silver car was probably a pro-driver too and the dock/roads were clear. Just my theory.

It's a Pepsi comercial. Hendrick would kill him otherwise.

Documented on various websites that the commercial is a fake, e.g. all are actors including the salesman. And Jeff Gordon isn't actually driving the car (not that he couldn't...). But it's well done and the premise and overall production is quite entertaining.

This brought back a memory: Many many years ago I owned an old Honda 450 twin..Nice little bike with an alphabet header that had maybe 50-55HP
One day I go with a buddy to this Suzuki dealer that he knew and the guy lets me take out a new 1000G..Tourer type, no bags, shaft drive.
So we go out of the dealership onto the highway and my buddy is on a fast 750E and here I am not looking at the speedometer and concentrating on this very heavy bike,
So I'm taking it up thru the gears like I would on the 450 just watching the tach not the speedo..
A few miles later I had to come to a stop and my buddy pulls up saying " Are you F-ing nuts? I was doing 140+ to try and catch you!
I never realised the speed, it was that smoothe..:D

I'm not sure they were really trying to fool anyone 'in the know' since the Camaro was an '09 (there was no '09 Camaro). I believe Brad Noffsinger was the stand-in to drive it, although I'm not sure why. VERY funny setup though. I'm not really a big basketball fan, but the Pepsi Max 'Uncle Drew' videos are along the same vein and very funny also.
