I was just wondering what other people do for shop security. Here is what we do;

My shop is a hangar at a local airport - gated with passcode, regular security vehicle patrols, and federal regs that make a crime on the grounds a bigger deal than just a regular breaking & entering beef. For the most part, bored local kids, meth-heads, and overall undesirable types stay away.

hahahahah its also funny..... But i tell you one thing that some dogs are very faithful with their owners so they identify any doubted person who came to their shop for some bad purpose. So in some cases dogs are the real security source.

Location matters... up here crime is much lower, shop is personal garage, with current ammo availability I need a sign saying that I won't be taking warning shots... I prefer AK47 vs a dog, cheaper to feed and maintain!

I always figured that barking would give cover to the sound of charging the weapon. No need to give your position away with that distinct sound.

the sign reads: TRESPASSERS WILL BE VIOLATED, SHOT, AND VIOLATED AGAIN. no one seems to come around much...
