View Full Version : Coyote oil pressure sender. Assumptions correct?

The engine comes with what I assume is an oil pressure sensor installed near the filter housing. It has a 1/4" NPT thread. I also assume it has to be there for the PCM. It has only one wire, so I assume it is grounded through the sensor body.

I have another sender that came with the gauges that has to be installed also. It has two wires that go to the gauge so it does not rely on the body for ground.

I am not comfortable hanging both senders off a tee connected to the engine through a 1/4" nipple, and the whole assembly will be getting close to the pipes, not to mention the added stress on the nipple.

What I need to do is mount both senders remotely, maybe on the F-panel using a small aluminum manifold block. I am not familiar enough with this engine to find an alternate location for the gauge sender, because I don't know where there are any ports that connect to the oiling system. If I use stainless steel braided hose, will the ground path through the braid be sufficient to operate the factory sender?

I know that this does not answer your question but if you did use a remote aluminum manifold block to mount the senders remotely you could ground the the senders near the F panels

Doh! I kind of thought of that right after I posted the question. My first choice is a plug somewhere where I can access the oiling system, so I'm still hoping for an answer on that issue.
