I posted a similar thread on the roadster forum with no responses. I have an MKIV with a 429/460. I am in the process of fitting accessories on my engine and realize the drivers side valve cover hits the top portion of the foot box. Does FFR have a modified drivers side foot box for more space as I think it might need for the 4.6/5.0 engines. That may be a better alternative than modifying the top of the foot box. Thanks for your help. Nick C.

Hi Nick,

We do have a different foot box inner vertical and inner top aluminum panels for the drives side on a MK4. They are typically used for the Modular Ford Engines, but could be used for a big block as well. You could just give us a call and order PN 14719 and 14718.

Thank You

Dan do you have a pic of the inner vertical panel? I'm having clearance issues and I'm trying to figure out if it can be adjusted by the motor mount. The vertical panel counld help me.

Hi Blate - here are a couple of photos that I think will show you the difference between the two panels we offer. This one is the standard panel, no bend:

16349

...and this one is the optional panel that we use for the modular Ford motors (4.6L and 5.0L Coyote). It takes a little room away from the interior of the footbox but gives some extra room for wider cylinder head / exhaust configurations:

16350

To use this second configuration, with the bend in the panel, you need to replace both the vertical inner wall and the inner top panel it mates to. Part numbers are 14718 and 14719, $30 ea.

Hope that helps!
