AOD shifter recommendations needed.

I know many have used the Lokar shifter. I would like to also. For those of you who could help me choose which one. I am using a Performance Automatics Street Smart AOD. My plan is to use a full centre console like one (if not actually one) designed and supplied by Dan Ruth. (Aka Dr. Ruth)

Cable or linkage?
8" or 12" or other length handle?
Other recommendations or requirements.
Part numbers would be appreciated.

I have the 8" and hard linkage on mine.
