I have the wilwood rear discs supplied by FFR. The cable end does not fit into the caliper bracket. Should I be using a different cable?

Hello, No the cable is the same if using wilwoods or the stock calipers. The cable should fit into the bracket, you might have to twist the spring a little bit on the bracket so you can have more room to slide the cable into place. if you still cannot do it please send me some photos at joe.scott@factoryfive.com and Dan and myself will review them. On my FFR Wilwood IRS brakes, one fit and one didn't. I recall having to open one of the holes on the caliper bracket up to get it to fit.

Edit: Sorry, I had pictures of my standard '94-2004 Ford Mustang Cobra rear brakes and the modifications I had to make.

I have the stock calipers and had trouble as well. I eventually unbolted the calipers, slipped the cable and put the calipers back on. Hope this helps.

I have a kit delivered with wilwood IRS brakes late last year.

I have installed the IRS brakes and mounted the FFR Replica Halibrands to check on fit. After taking out one of the spacers it clears the caliper but I still have interference with the emergency brake actuating arm.

1. Does someone have a photo of their installation that I can see to how the cable hooks up to the actuator?

2. It looks like shaving off a little off the top of the lever will give me the clearance I will need but it is still going to be tight. Can I do this to the actuator?

3. What are other solutions available?

Thanks in advance. Carl

Hi Carl,

Here are a couple of photos from another customer's build using the IRS and Wilwood brakes. Send in an email to tech@factoryfive.com if this still leaves you with any questions, and one of the guys here will jump right on it.
