Locking Gas Cap for Mk3.1

I have tried the Stant 10502 (the locking version of the cap that came with my kit - 10832). It did not lock well. If I push down hard on the cap, it will unlock. Tried 2 of them and both had this problem.

Has anyone had success with another brand?

I remember a few years back someone said the Viper locking cap would work. You will need to look up the numbers.

This may not be exactly how you want to do this, but this locking cap from Breeze is outstanding. I have it installed in my Mk3 and will install the same thing in my Mk4. I never found a regular aftermarket locking cap that I was very happy with. For the older style LeMans cap without the integral filler tube (my Mk3), drops right in. For the newer style (my Mk4) will cut off the filler tube and install this cap.

Thanks for the post. The Breeze cap does look nice. My Lemans cap is already installed and modifying it did not look easy.

I decided to try the Autozone cap 5502. It works well.
