Factory Five and iRacing Partnership?

I know you guys at Factory Five are very busy dealing with getting the 818 perfected (got my order placed :) ) and on top of that, bad weather, but I wanted to make a proposal. :)

If you haven't heard of iRacing (www.iracing.com) it's the best consumer level racing simulation on the market with 25,000+ members. We've got everything from an MX-5 to McLaren MP4-12C to Williams F1 and tons of oval racing content too. One aspect of motorsports we are missing is a vintage roadster and I'm sure it would be a big hit with my fellow iRacers.

It would be very cool to get a MK4 Roadster in the simulation too!

I Tweeted Steve Myers at iRacing (he's the one who handles making deals like this) and Factory Five, hopefully we can get a deal worked out. :)

I saw your tweet this morning and was going to share it with Dave Smith and everyone else as soon as I can. It'd be very cool to get a Factory Five in the game!

Dave, it's not a game, per se, but a high end consumer level simulator. Real tracks, real cars. Many pro drivers use it for practice. I stop by their booth at PRI every year and drool over it, but have never ponied up for the service (as I have limited time for sims/games these days).

There was a guy working on the model of the challenge car (or maybe it was a GTM?) a few years ago. I think he was talking about it on FFCars.com but I'm not sure.

I think iRacing would be great.

I've been looking into it with a few friends that race caterhams and Lotus Elises and they practice in iRacing.

I've been using iRacing for two years now, and I have to say it is the most realistic simulator I've every seen. It is even better than the Level D simulators I use for my pilot job. My college roommate and best man in my wedding is an engineer with them and has shown me some of the development that they go through to get the physics right. I was impressed. It would be awesome to see roadster and coupe in iRacing! They are just up the road from you guys in Bedford MA.

It would make for a great partnership, get the MK4, GTM and 818 in iRacing. Plus they are located in Bedford MA too I believe, so nice an local as well.
