they have to be mentioned with the likes of these 2 cars.
these you can build in your Garage also for a small amount of money, and able to beat so called SuperCars that are worth Millions.
Let's face it, if you are to construct a car that will go on to be driven and known all around the world you need to make it light, nimble and fast with a powertrain that is easy to find anywhere on this planet.
the two examples: one uses a Ford Powerplant (they are everywhere), the other a Suzuki Hayabusa engine (not so easy to find or cheap).
Please watch the videos completely ! you'll enjoy them.
One thing: One of the cars there is the Veritas, I love this car but definately would be not easy to recreate or even buy.

obviously you didn't watch the video, yes ugly but fun and faster in the twisties than most "SuperCars" and built with a ton of less money.
My point is that FFR should build something that can compete with the 7's, 11's or Westfields of the world. and be good looking as well.

I agree. Amazing that a Caterham beats the Veyron around Topgear's track. I would love to see FFR keep the weight below 1800 lbs. 200-250HP in something that weighs less than 1800 lbs and handles like a slot car would be awesome.
Cool post Sergio.

Steven Hawking is not much to look at either...the beauty of the Seven has to do with performance and the brilliance of Colin Chapman's engineering skills.
I used to think the Daytona Coupe was butt-ugly, until I understood the utility of the Kamm tail. Suddenly I found the Coupe to be one of the most beautiful cars around.

The beauty of a 7 becomes apparent when you get behind the steering wheel.

That may be, but you still have to look at it as you walk up to the car to get in it. Beauty is a big factor.

There's a really fine line balancing it all though. Many of these cars mentioned aren't nice to drive on the street, or require race car quality driving to extract their potential. Then there's the looks as well, which are horribly subject to opinion and you'll always disappoint someone.
That being said, at 1800 pounds, if you get up to 400-450 crank hp, you'll be in the real of the super-super cars (veyron, S7TT, ect).
What I'm in some ways more excited about, is seeing what this car will eat up with relatively stock power levels. Can it take on a GTR? Or how about lambos?
Most of these questions aren't just a power to weight question though. It's how well it handles, and how easy it is to drive at the limits. If they can get that right it almost doesn't matter how much power you have on the track, as long as you have enough to keep up in the straights.

Hopefully we will found out more at the open house in June. they should have the car in go kart form there all done except the body. I will definitely be there to check it out as I hope to be one of the first to start building one of these!

I love Super 7's, Westfield makes a nice one, not real cheap price wise, but still not as much as Caterham, which is insane for the price they are asking.
I love Donkervoort's version of a Super 7, unfortunately you can't get them here in the U.S. as far as I know.
Here are a couple Donkervoort versions. Not sure but I think the engine is from BMW, but not sure.

The Donkervoort used to use the VW/Audi 1.8/2.0 turbo motors. They do have lovely styling for a Seven based car.
