Dave put out a thread stating that Modified Mustangs and Fords Magazine was doing a shoot of an FFR and wondered if local guys wanted to turn it into a cruise-in. There was a little over a week notice.
My car is not ready yet, but this was my first event as a FFR owner. I was like a kid at Christmas all week. My wife and I drove in from Jax Beach, about 4 hrs. I figured I would get a chance to meet some of you guys, look at your cars, see the FF cars, and shake Dave's hand.
The furthest that I met, was from Kentucky with a stunning Silver and blue hot rod.
I got there a few minutes early. The FFR truck was set up with a Challange car on the tail gate. Dave's red MKIV, a car under a cover, and a Coupe were parked in front.
Dave then served up some donuts for breakfast........in the coupe. Awesome sart to the day.
I didn't really count, but there were probably 25 owner cars. Including two GTMs, a couple hot rods, and the rest roadsters. Also of note were a couple Ford GTs and a top knotch Sunbeam Tiger.
There were at least 120 people, mostly gathered around Dave for the day. Dave shared some great stories about FFR history, "Sonny" Silvia FFR customer #1 was there with a nice silver roadster. There were stories about meeting great racing legends like Dan Gurney. Dave also gave a great update on the 818. He went into what FF is doing on testing and panel manufacturing.
Under the cover, was the Summit Racing Factory Five Roadster. One of my goals was to find color for m roadster. I think this is it.
There were car show trophies handed out. (What a class act FFR for a last minute get together) I don't have the results as I wasn't planning on doing a write up. I have to say, there were some very nice cars present.
Then Dave's red MKIV Coyote (seen on Muscle car) was put on the dyno (see other thread) for a couple pulls.
I had a great day, met some great people, saw some great cars, and possibly found my paint color.
I met a couple guys that were thinking of pulling the trigger on their own FFR. Iwould highly recommend it.
Thanks Dave, FFR crew, Modified Mustangs and Fords, and FFR owners for a great day.
