I just received this in an e-mail and thought there might be some interest here. Jodi and I are planning on attending.

Here is your, much anticipated (or dreaded) First Local Club Cruise of the Year. I am hoping to see many of you out for this one. As always, all makes and models are welcome. Let's hope our luck with the weather improves thisyear. Here are a few of the key facts regarding this cruise.

1. Members have mentioned that some cruises were a little long for their taste. This is going to be an easy, 135 mile, 3 hours driving time. 4 hour, 30 minute, total, including lunch. Even we, gas guzzling, Cobras should make it without the need to refuel.

2. Meeting time will be a civilized 10:30 am, at what I am led to believe is a normal meeting point for the club. That being somewhere on Northside Drive, around Fenton Market Place. I personally have never met there so I have no clue. We might want to address this issue again before the 9th. How about sending me an email with suggestions for somewhere in Mission Valley.

3. We will run south, down I-15 and I-805, to Rt 94, out through Spring Valley on Rt94, turning north on Honey Springs Rd. We will continue in a northerly direction all the way to Lake Cuyamaca, where we will stop for lunch.

4. Leaving Cuyamaca, we will continue north over one of my favorite tracts, Engineers Road! Be forewarned, this is without a doubt, a "go at your own pace" road. Yes, you can run quickly on it and have some fun, but it is not for the faint hearted. By this in mean it is tight and twisty. There is no problem with the road surface that I know of. Having said that, many families live out there and seem to be able to come and go without wrecking the family van.

5. From there it is through Pine Hills, Julian, Santa Ysabel, Ramona, and eventually back to I-15 South near Rancho Bernardo.

6. The North County crowd will break off here and head up the road, while our Southern Brothers and Sisters will head back to the Big City.
