This was at the impromptu cruise-in at Modified Mustangs and Fords.

Dave served up some donuts (in the Daytona) to get things going. Towards the end of the event he put the MKIV on the dyno. Two runs were done.

388 Rwhp / 330 ft-lb. Math puts it around 430 HP at the flywheel.

It has a very smooth idle and boy does that coyote howl at 7000 rpms. (2nd run). It was just a little loud in the enclosed area.!!!

totally cool engine and great sound BUT.............. 330 ft. lbs of torque for that kind of scratch? The stock 1993 GT puts out 300 ft.lbs of torque, with some affordable mods that can be had for about half the money with the 5.0.......sorry for being a downer! Steven

I think the 330 lbs quoted is rear wheel. Torque at the engine would be higher but I am not sure of the multipliction factor. that number would be what should be compared to the 300 from the 93 car.

What headers is he running? Or is he running the FFR J-pipes?

The Boss intake makes HP at the higher RPM's at the expense or torque. Numbers do seem low though. A lot people have made over 400 rwhp on a 5.0L Coyote will simple mods and a good tune.

Those numbers were rear wheel. This was also pre tune. Dave gave the tech premission to do some tuning on Monday.

I am not sure what headers it has. I did look in the engine bay, but don't remember. It has the Boss intake, so they were right around the HP that was expected. The tech said the typical 14 - 15% number for drivetrain loss.

I was hoping that the the Summit car or the Coupe with the 363 was going on the rollers. But it was probably a smart decision to put the new tech on there. Plus I can't imagine having to tell the president of Summit that you broke his car on the dyno.

I am going 347 carb myself. I like a bit of chop at idle. There was a Hot rod there that had a nasty cam.....it sounded really good.

I meant to tell you this about the 818. It is not a big market, but I lived in New Zealand for a few years and they are Subaru FANATICS. It is the most popular brand of car in the country. It might be worth a magazine add.

Do you have the rpm's that the hp and torque readings were taken? The Boss intake looks really cool, but it has lower torque at lower rpm's and only increases the Hp at really high revs.

The second run went to 7000. I couldn't get a look at the screen, so I don't know where the peaks were.

I can post the graph later today when I get a few minutes...

We spent all day yesterday dyno testing the remaining FFRs. Sorry, I can't divulge those numbers, as they are for a future magazine story and Summit wants their numbers kept quiet until they publish their own blog on their site.

I would put money on the exhaust being thier own stuff (headers and j-pipes). Their internal company builds stick very very close to their own offerings.

The car has the stock BBK-built Coyote shorty headers with FFR J-pipes (no cats) into their stainless side pipes.

Thanks for the reply. I'd wager the exhaust is holding the car back by about 20-30 rwhp. There are quite a few 2011+ cars making ~400 rwhp with only intake and tune. My buddies 2012 has hi-flow cats, axlebacks, JLT intake, a custom tune and he's making just over 400 at the wheels with the stock non-boss intake. I'd love for someone with the Stainless headers to get on a dyno for a comparison.
