I ordered the Factory five 33 wheels for my kit. After spending lots of time looking around, I chatted with a fellow from tire rack. I ended up with 2- 235/40ZR17 Sumitomo HTR Z II and 2- 285/35ZR18 Sumitomo HTR Z II tires with road hazzard and shipping for $600.00. I thought that was a good deal compared to other choices I looked at. Most were in the 1K or more area. They are great looking tires. I won't be driving this car at the limit, mostly cruising. I thought I would pass this info along.
Good looking tire and price. I had a set but they were not the II's so your results may be different. Overall they were OK on dry roads but if it was cold or wet-hang on. For general use as you describe they should be adequate.

Yes they are a good deal IMO. I am still waiting for FFR to send my wheels. I am ready to put my chassis on wheels but have none yet.

Are you running fenders and what size wheels are you using. I am looking at the same setup but I think 285 are to tall for fenders. Any comments would be appreciated.

Jonathan, I am not, but here is a site with a height calculator...

The 285/35/18 should be approx 25.9 inches high. I am using 295/30/18, which are 25 inches and there is plenty of room in the fender for more height. I did put 1" spacers behind the wheels to move the tires away from the body and closer to the outer edge of the fender. It depends which axle you have. Check my build thread for pics.

I ended up getting the same tires for $528 from tirerack. Im not terribly worried about about the performance/longevity of them right now since they keep the WAF (wife acceptance factor) high by keeping my costs down..haha. I can swap rubber after Im on the road for a year or so.
On a side note...I ordered my tires from tire rack at about 6pm and got them at my door step by 2pm the next day with regular UPS ground shipping..very fast
