Shifter options?

So I had a thread a while back on the other forum about different shifter options. I'm not to crazy about the traditional shifter and pattern, so what else is out there that works. I really liked blur427 shifter but i think it's not practical. ( I can't post a pic, but to describe it the shifter had an arm that linked to the original location to extend the shifter forward). Post pics and how you like what you have.

If you are using a tremec TKO or 3550 series, then you have the option of a mid shift kit. If its a T-5 then you are very limited. Some people have used the tail shafthousing from an S10 pickup to get a different shift location.

This is my T5 with the mid-shift mod and an MGW aftermarket shifter.
I really like the feel and recommend it.

HELP on Engine and Transmission - Budget builder -
Like everyone else in the world now, my friend and I are on a budget. The plan was to put the 427 in the car, but now considering building and installing a 460. So, how does this relate to Shifters? We wanted the 460 engine matched to a Tremec TKO 600. Ok, so the problem is, once again, the cost of the transmission. Found a $950 Tremec 3350 on ebay. Will that be able to handle the horsepower of a well built 460 (our engine "department, lol" is an aircraft mechanic who wants to get 500 hp out of the engine. Will the Tremec 3550 shifter fit the Roadster? Do we need special shifter kit for it? Here is the ebay link.
