Bought my FF about a month ago and have not been able to contact the original owner. What is the inertia cutoff switch? I see it mentioned in the build book, my car has one. I'd like to know what it does. Thanks

It's a switch that cuts off the fuel pump in an accident. It detects a hit, engages and shuts off the electric fuel pump.

This is a standard safety feature on all modern EFI equipped cars. You usually find it in the trunk somewhere. I originally installed one in my car. But, when I really launched the car, the shock load tripped the switch, and the car died immediatly. So I had to remove it.

Thanks guys. So far I haven't had it shut off the car. How do you reset it?
