When I was a student at the University of Wisconsin in 1986, Ronald Reagan was President and the Soviet Union was the evil empire. Today, I run a company that builds custom cars and some of them are sent to Russia. Here's a 5.0 Coyote powered '33 Hot Rod that lives in Moscow. I don't understand the name, "Angry Smurf," but it sure is cool that we're sending American Hot Rods to the former Soviet Union.

I started high school as a freshman in '86 (military school, I'll never be able to forget my cadet number even if I tried heh, the first three digits denote the year you started so that year will always be in my head). Angry Smurf is a reference to the smurf cartoon, these somewhat neurotic blue gnome-like creatures, that were popular in the late 70' and/or early 80's:

At work we have a big blue water truck and everyone just calls it the smurf heh. That blue build is amazing though, from the grabber blue to the work of art that is an instrument panel, they did an oustanding job on it.
