Fox body rear...Richard obens axle kit....10.5 rear rims from factory five....how close do the rims get to the quad shocks....?? I know aftermarket quads which is what we bought are different from the stock shocks..but with the rim on...it's bat a 16th of an inch from the rim?? That cannot be right?

If you are using coil overs or even three link, the quad shocks are not needed. Even with the stock 4 link you can get away without them.

Yes using a four link....if I don't use them...will that effect the ride at all?

Should impact the ride, they were designed to help eliminate wheel hop I believe. You could certainly start with them off and then if you have a hop problem under acceleration go back to trouble shooting it.

I think Scott meant to say ..should NOT impact the ride...Also, sometimes you can get more wheel clearance by reversing the way the quad shocks are mounted. I agree, if they don't clear, try without them. When I had 4 link on my MkI, I didn't run them and just learned to drive around the hop which wasn't that hard to do. It's more fun w/ the 3 link to just spin up the rears once in a while but it's really not the fast way to go.
