I saw a pic of this somewhere on the other forum. Where can I find the aluminum hood liner piece that can be affixed under the hood and a similar piece under the trunk? Does anyone sell this?

What version Roadster? Mk3 and Mk4 (the ones I'm familiar with) have only a relatively small hole in the underside of the trunk lid. I'm not aware of anyone that sells a filler. It you really want to cover it up, It's an easy part to fab. Nothing to fill on the hood underside. I understand earlier versions didn't have the two piece hood, so perhaps there's something that can be done with those.

This is my Mk3. I assume the hole you can see in the trunk lid is what you are describing. The underside of the hood is smooth as received from FFR.

Thanks. It's a Mark IV.

Then my answer is the same. Your Mk4 is exactly like the Mk3 I pictured. Nothing to do on the hood. You can make a piece to fill the hole in the trunk if you like. Just make it removable. One of the reasons the hole is there is to be able to wire and service the license plate light fixture.

x2 on what Edward stated. I just made a trunk panel out of some thin aluminum and covered it with a piece of the black vinyl I'm using for the dash. Some small self tapping screws will hold it in place. You will definitely need access to the inside of the lid at some time.

Perhaps you are asking about the metalizing that Ron Randall does at Metal-Morphous?

Dark Water Customs sells a cover for the trunk hole. I had to trim 5/16" off the edge for it to fit the MKIV trunk, but I believe Chris is correcting that on future covers.

Here's a couple of pics of the panel I made from some thin aluminum sheet and covered with some leftover dash vinyl. I used some black interior trim screws to attach it to the lid. If you go this route, bend the curve in the aluminum before you glue on the vinyl. If you do it with it flat, it can wrinkle in the middle when you bend it and it tends to pull to much on the ends.

I believe Dark Water Customs used to make a 1 piece aluminum hood liner, but they discontinued that years ago.
