Well since my 818 is not due till August I started watching videos of other builds to get some ideas. I fell in love with the 33 and started to look for a Mustang donor. I found a 1993 5.0, 5 spd. with a 8.8 for $2500. The body and interior was crap but it had only 45K on the car. I thought it was not right but Carfax verified the mileage. Car runs great no leaks, fast and quiet. So I bought a 33 kit yesterday still on sale. I pick it up the first week in Feb. I am still going to build my 818s. I figuire you only live once and went for it. :p

I started doing the same thing. With the lack of pictures and updates, and the waiting game for the 818 (that I wouldn't be in a position to buy right away anyway), I started looking at the '33. Sad thing is, my wife likes the '33 better. Though we haven't seen the final 818 product.
Would NEVER be in a position to own both.
Still can't wait for the 818 to present itself and to see people start building them.

Wallace18 - Congrats! Building these Factory Five kits is addicting. I'm just finishing a '33 Hot Rod. Hope to have it done in 4-6 weeks. That will give me time to break it in, enjoy it before my 818S kit arrives in February 2014. The 818 is for my wife.
Your posts on the 818 and donor prep have been very helpful.
Look forward to your '33 build and pictures. Keep us posted.

Congratulations on the '33. My cousin really would like to build one. I could see myself wanting to build a '33 in a few years. At the moment I'd rather have a 2013+ GT Mustang than a kit for about the same price. Hopefully I'll have a bigger garage and space to build one of these things in the next year or so. Enjoy it!

I went with the Ford Racing 302 small block (345 hp) and a Tremec TKO600 5-speed overdrive transmission. I added the Mass-Flo EFI system. I have a build thread on the ffcars.com forum but haven't had time to transfer the information to the Factory Five 33 forum.

Hello Wallace18, the'33 hotrod is one of my future dream project, but i m gonna start with the 818s first. My question is do you have a estimate cost of the build with your donor? Just to have a idea thanks:) i m gonna follow your build :)

The 33 I feel comfortable with 44K to finish that includes paint. The 818S with all I have done will be about 22K.

If anyone wants to follow my 33 build it is on the 33 forum under customer builds. Wallace18's 33 build. I will still follow all the 818 stuff since mine is due in 8/3/13. Good luck to all and thanks for the kind words.

A Geoff Maxwell sighting? No way! When are we going to see that beauty on the road Geoff? Make sure you're available for the HB cruise in! :)

Hey Erik! Soon, very soon I hope. Finishing the last of the electrical system, then out the garage and on the streets. I'm looking forward to HB. Hope to see you there.
