Weather was not kind (30* and it snowed the night before), but Rich showed up early to help me debug my wiring issue, everything worked except the right turn signal. I've been trying to figure out this problem for weeks and it's been driving me crazy. After a couple hours of tracing wires and testing everything, we determined that the Probe turn signal Relay was shorted out, don't know how or when, but that seemed to resolve it. Hats off to Rich, the wiring job was correct the whole time! Stupid flasher relay!
Then Dan and Mark joined us at 11am.
After talking about my build for a while and Dan taking a few pictures, we lifted the body off of the buck, carried it from the back yard, and fit it to the go-kart! Went on pretty easily. After puling and tugging a bit, it settled onto the chassis pretty snug.

After everyone left and I warmed up a bit, I cleaned off the dirt that had accumulated on the body and lined-up/tightened the front and rear bumper bolts.

Even though the weather sucked, I really enjoyed the day!
Thanks Again Rich, Dan, and Mark.

My wife commented yesterday that it seemed weird seeing a "car" parked on my side of the garage now.

After getting the front and rear bumper bolts installed, it looks like I'm going to need to move the front mounts about 1/4" to the passenger side, to align the hood opening on the top frame rails. Right now the DS side hood lip sits on top of the frame rail, not over the edge.
Any suggestions for how to persuade them to the passenger side? I'm thinking a come-along, but trying to figure out what to anchor it to, to pull off of. I think the body is going to need to come back off for this operation.

Congrats on the milestone! It's cool to see a car in the garage where there was a pile of parts.
I had the same issue of persuading the front mounts to the passenger side a little. I used a large pipe wrench to bend the quick jack mounts over with the body on but you can look for anything that can leverage the 3/4" tubes . . . with padding to avoid scratches.
How many times have you looked out into the garage at the new car?

LOL, you KNOW the feeling, eh?

My wife was getting annoyed. I'd go outside and piddle (I mean work) until I couldn't stand the cold any longer, then come in and warm up.
This went on all day Saturday and a good part of Sunday.
Sometimes I just stand and stare at what I've created! How cool is that!

Can't wait for this Spring to come!

That's great!!! Is this common on the mk4 to have to adjust the front bumper bolts...about a quarter inch?? Can't wait to see that baby painted!!
