--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello and merry Christmas. I am working on chassis number 490. I am to the rear brakes and are having a problem. I'm sure this is another one of those dumb questions. I am trying to install the brake pads. There are wire spring clips on the top of the pads to hold them in place. the ones on the outside stop the pad from laying flat. all .the pads are the same. thes brakes are the ones that f5.. sells that are used on a mustang . everything has come along good till now. help i am lost.

Could you post a picture? The springs are facing up, correct?

Place the pads on the rotor (in the caliper bracket)in their proper place then slide the caliper over them. The spring clips press the pads into the caliper bracket. You have to compress the springs while inserting the caliper bolts. Or just leave the springs out, that works well, too. Be sure the pistons are all the way retracted so you can slide the caliper over the rotors.
