Hi all,

I am following the development of the 818 with interest and have looked at the way the suspenion is coming together. Also have looked at the GTM design with interest and as a result got to wondering,
When FF design a new car how do they decide on the suspenion design? Are they using a suspenion simulator to find the best anchour point for all the components. As you can appricate the final design can have a big effect on the cornering performance of the cars.

Is there anyone out there that can shed some light on this for me.

Pretty sure they use solid works and a whole lot of hp hardware to simulate everything.

And all this time I just thought Jim & Jesper just pulled it out of their hats

All jokes aside guys but solid works would not be as good as a suspension simulator.

I have no knowledge which or how many different suspension simulators tools FFR might use.
The solidworks is a CAD tool that will calculate CG, roll centers, all the tire angles through out its suspension travel. I do not think it is a suspension simulator.
I do know they have a lot of people with real time racing experience.
I consider the tools and experience the intellectual property that I am benefitting from when I buy a kit from FFR.
