I'm guessing at the price point this car will re-use the WRX wheel hubs and possibly some portion of the original upright assembly - though it will probably adapt these to a coil-over shock arrangement and some type of unequal length A-arm suspension front and rear.
So that leaves the Subaru wheel bolt pattern (which I'm not familiar with). It's likely the front end will stay with the large positive (or is it negative? - can't ever remember which way that goes) offset wheels to get a wider track and minimal scrub. However in the rear, a more conventional minimal offset wheel can be used. For a mid-engine car, wider in the rear will look and possibly perform better (with more rear weight bias).

So what types of wheels are out there that fit this pattern, and allow various offsets and widths in the same style? AND - aren't custom made $500+ per wheel artwork?
17" wheels seem strike a balance for looks, affordability, tire selection. Pics??

Maybe FFR is planning to provide some unique wheels from a supplier for this car (like they did for the GTM)?

I like 17" or 18" wheels, but it seems like using the original wheels should at least be an option if this project is to stay below $15,000.

Discount Tire has an interactive page that allows you to see selected wheels on a given vehicle.

And as much a dubs are amusing to some, the MR2 crowd has found that 15" wheels tend to be lighter than the larger ones. And given the light overall intended weight of this vehicle, keeping suspended versus unsuspended weight under control will result in better handling.

Good looks vs good handling. Which do you prefer?

Check out what Rota offeres for the WRX. They make a lot of great looking knock off wheels and great prices. There are plenty of size and offset options. Don't forget the used wheel market on the Subaru forums, great place to get used wheels cheaply.

Most affordable wide and lower offset wheels (they have "regualar" width and offset wheels too) you'll find.

2002-2011 WRX is 5x100 (typical offset is +45mm)
2004-2012 STi is 5x114.3 (typical offset is +40-45mm)

Hey guys, I thought this might help you out. Here are three wheels from tire rack that would work so I photoshopped them.. Which do you like best?
