Like most here, pretty excited about this project being realized. I've followed some projects that never came to fruition. Kudos to FFR.
Truth be told, I've been a long-time fan of the Roadster, and still might go that route, but this 818 really has my attention though...
For the Roadster, I find specs on the website, such as:
Weight – 2,250 lbs.
Weight distribution – F/R 46.9/53.1 (percent)
Wheelbase – 90 inches
Overall length – 158 inches
Front track – 58.5 inches
Rear track – 58.5 inches
Overall height – 48.0 inches
Overall width – 70.5 inches
Ground clearance – 4.5 inches
Fuel capacity – 15 gallons

With respect to the 818, I didn't find anything quite like this. I realize it is early of course, but I'd like to think that most, if not all this data is already known.
We know the target weight of course at 1,800 lbs / 818 kg (about 450 lbs lighter than the Roadster)
I saw somewhere the wheelbase at 95" (5 inches longer than the Roadster)
If this information exists, and I missed it, my apologies. Kindly direct. Thanks much.

Been asking for someone to get an accurate ground clearance number for quite some time. Not everyone has a paved driveway.

I think you meant the 818 is 450 pounds lighter than the Roadster.

All of the specs are not published yet because they are not finalized.

Also, keep in mind that the 818R will be about 1800lbs. We have to remember that 818KG is the TARGET weight. I fully expect it to be a little heavier - I trust that FFR will make the chassis as strong as possible and will not sacrifice strength to hit the target weight. I will be pleasantly surprised if the 818R weighs less than 818KG. The 818S will be heavier than an 818R. If for no other reason than the existence of a full-size DOT legal windshield. Add to the 818S a convertible top and the weight again goes up. What FFR has developed so far are two prototypes (only one of them still exists). Once the 818R prototype goes through 3 months of track testing there will be probably some additional changes. They have a lot riding on this and they know they need to make sure this car not only goes fast but that it also stops fast and handles great.
If I was Dave, I would not put out any specs yet. I'd wait until at least the first 'production' kits were created (and assembled).

I think it has been stated by FFR that weight will actually be UNDER 818KG. I certainly hope that's true.
Add to the above that such specs aren't really needed right now because they already have enough pre-orders to keep them busy until 2014. As stated above, I think they'll post such when they start making production runs.

Didn't Dave say the prototype came in under 818k? I think he also said or maybe it was someone else who said the 105" wheel
base was being reviewed. The width should be very close to the donor, right? As far as ride height, most FFRs are set at 4" ?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Cyphers, yup, you're right. I made the correction, thank you.
I figured the weight to be a moving target and of course influenced by options, but I trust it will at or around 818 kg. Good enough for me. I just thought that the dimensions, such as overall ones, width, wheelbase and track would be pretty much set at this stage; and that I was just not looking in the right place for these...

It will have adjustable coil-overs. You'll be able to set your ride height.

I thought it was stated elsewhere the 818S was close to 1800lbs (slightly under) and the 818R was on the order of 1500-1600lbs due to no carpet, interior, lighter seats, etc.

Here's a statement from Dave from June:
A few answers... Car has been tested with manual steering and brakes. Power is on the list.
EXACT Weight Specs: Current weight without body is 1503 lbs on scales includes 5 gallons of fuel in tank. Current weight distribution without body is 40 front, 60 rear. Design goal for final vehicle is clear at 42F and 58 rear. Design goal for the car was 1800lbs. and Jim is confident of that number considering a ton of variables such as factory seats, HVAC, etc. It is going according to plan.

Yes I have known of this for awhile, but thanks for the recap. In person they stated "1500-1675 with gas for 818r", so maybe the body is 150-175lbs. They did not break down what was the weight of the frame compared to the body. They stated "this is all that is known on the weight of the car at this time". Add windshield/frame 40-70lbs, factory seats, full interior 100-135lbs. 1815-1880 for s. It all seems to add up. What they did add at the end to recap the weight was the 818r will be under 1800 and the s will be right around target. Thats all I got so far.

I was actually posting that for the OP for the weight distribution portion since nobody else tried to fill in that blank.

Are there now any specs for the 818 published anywhere?
