Sold my GTM today :-(
Why? (I mean why did you sell it, not why are you bummed!)
Was it all finished, or still in progress?

It's been done since SEMA 2011. Figured it was time to build #14. Not sure exactly what #14 will be, tossing a few ideas around with Dave.

OK, well now I don't feel so bad for you! LOL!
I've got a bunch of ideas for my dream GTM, but unfortunately, I think it will be a one-time deal. Though I hope not!
Have you considered getting a jet engine like the ones they use to clean NASCAR tracks? That would be an interesting install for #14!
(I can just see the headlines....And in other news today, NORAD was tracking an unidentified inbound which they thought was an ICBM. Turns out it was just a Factory 5 GTM and its lead-footed owner heading for Vegas...)

You have made 13 people very happy!
My idea for #14, stretch out the body and frame behind the waterfall/firewall. Scrap the hatch glass. Drop in a LS with a old school 8-71 blower that sticks up just above the roof. It will be retro modern like the new Camaro and Mustang. Really you have done everything else. Might as well travel into unknown territory with this one. And who dosent love blower wine ;)

I say you become the test bed to install the Coyote engine in a GTM, who else better to get factory support from F5R (after 14 kits you earned that right) and with your proven ability to fabricate.......

Well I offer my condolences and congratulations.
I think this is similar to the definition of mixed emotions; you know, when your mother-in-law drives over a cliff------------ in your brand new Mercedes. Mixed emotions!!
I hope build 14 is as awesome and rewarding as your other builds. See if you could work out a package deal with Dave where you get your car, and a spare Roadster that you can send down to me. It seems fair (albeit completely self-serving!!) ;-o)
Good luck on your next build!
Regards,
Steve

oh man...this would be great. As a Ford dealer I'm not down with GM power. But I've looked at every kit under the sun and keep coming back to the GTM. So this is what I will build but if someone would engineer the Coyote into the build I would be forever grateful.

Congrats Gary.
I know that you enjoy driving these cars and getting the attention that they generate. But I also know that you are most at home during the build process. I'm sure that whatever you decide to build will be a fun ride. The negative for me is that you will probably have your next car completed before I get done with my first... Oh well.
At least it'll be fun to read about your progress.
Take care, and Have Fun!!!

I am tempted to built a GTM with a Subaru 6 cyclinder and a 6 speed, turbo the engine. My logic is that the motor will give a lot of power but the car will have a lot lower CG as well as total weight will be a lot better.
I like the 818 but I don't think the suspenion design is good enough for serious racing. Also I think the GTM wins in the looks comp.

Joe, I have an idea..............why don't you give me that Coyote motor of yours and put a simple 302 in it with a carb. Then I will do whatever it takes to get that Coyote motor in GTM #4!

Have you considered doing an All Wheel Drive variant? With the power these things put down, it wouldn't hurt to double the contact patches that put it to the road...
