Looks like one of the early axles had a significant failure on a high horsepower car. An improvement was suggested by one of the guys who's way smater than me and it involves machining in a radius instead of the sharp edge then shot peening. So to my question,,, do you know the metal type for an origional (chassis 22) axle and was there any heat treating done to it?
As a follow on, Richard M. posted he went to the newer axle style on his racer with good results. Would moving to the newer style be an option and can you give me a price on a pair?
