Just got my new seats via FedEx yesterday. Loved the quick shipping from the Black Friday sale.

I noticed that the bottom pad of the seat looks like the rear part of your butt sits lower than the front part. Is it still recommended that you mount the front of the seat a bit higher than the rear?

With the fiberglass framed seats, recommendation was to mount the front about 1" higher than the rear. Wondering if there is a different recommendation with the newer style seats.

I currently have the Kirky lowbacks in my car. Going to try to fab up a mount so I can easily swap them back in for future track events. I really like how those minimize side-to-side movement, but they kinda suck for street comfort (and it's not getting any easier to get in & out of the car as I age).

Hi dan i would just mount them flat , they work best that way and the contour of the seat feels right

Hi Dan,

Don't know your body profile but I was having a little space issue with my legs so I installed some adjustable runners on the cockpit floor and mounted a plywood platform on them. The net effect was about a 1.5 inch raise (still level). That was on purpose as my 2x4 template was just the right height for me when I was testing the location of the seat. The additional benefit was a little more room for the seat to move back toward the cockpit wall. So then I placed the seat just like yours on top and moved it around to get the optimal position. That process can be a little tricky when actually mounting the seat to the floor. When it was just right, I pulled the seat cushion forward and used a couple of screws to temporarily "mount" the seat. Took it out, thru bolted the seat to seat runners and it was done. If you don't get it right or change your mind you can unscrew the 2 screws and reposition. That might also be just the thing for you if you have different seat applications you want to use down the line. In the back of my mind, I was hoping the adjustable runners would be nice for a shorter person to get comfortable in the driver seat like my wife. But I think that will remain a pipe dream as she remains "shiftless". Good luck, WEK.

I just used a 1" piece of angle iron. I mounted it to the seat, which created a stand off, so, the L is flat on the seat bottom, then it makes a 1" stand off on the floor, then I mounted the seats. Cheap and very easy. I need to modify the driver's side a bit to add adjustable seat hardware, but I'll still use a similar idea.

I had my seats mounted flat for about a year. I switched to the seat mounting brackets from Breeze and it's much more comfortable for me.

I just tried a few spacers under the front and rear until I got it to feel right. I have the front slightly higher.

Thanks for the tips.

I tried a few different things and found that using a piece of 3/4" tubing to lift the front felt good. Got the passenger side done and working on the driver side.
