Suggestion...opinions: Is it wise to install the tranny tunnel top piece so it is removalable down the road? Is there any part of the top you would need to get to later on?

That's something I now wish I had done. There are times you would like to get to the top of the transmission, or to the parking brake mechanism.

If you can make it look good, do it. It made it easier when I swapped engines & pulled the engine/tranny together. Mine's pretty simple, but some guys get quite elaborate.

I think I will try to create a removable top-Thanks!

Question-I see you have a glove conpartment installed---did you use the dash material provided (getting more for the door)? Also, do you have a heater/defroster? I need to put one in for inspection, thinking it made go in that area. Didn't start with the gauges, so really don't know spacing yet.

The glove box is from Alex's Custom Roadster Interiors. He gives you new dash vinyl, with enough to do the door. Sorry, but no heater needed here in SW FL (was about 82 today). In fact, late fall/winter is the best cruising season here. I'm sure others have done both glove box & heater.

I used firewall forward kit from FFMetal, the FFR heater, and the shallow glove box from Alex with no prob.

strongly recommend a removable top. Takes 20 min to remove a transmission from the top.

I used black screws with the built in grommets (from mcmaster I think), and after 1100 miles, I've been into mine 2x. Mine is wrapped in vinyl, so the black button heads blend right in. One thing I didn't do right is placement of the rear (towards the seats) screws. I put them too far back and had to use a flexible drill/driver on my screwgun to get them out because the seat didn't even allow room for a shortie screwdriver. Mock up the seat location before you drill and screw.
