Side Exhaust Heat Shields

I still have a ways to go before registering my vehicle, but I checked the PA requirements and it stated that heat shields were needed for exposed side exhaust pipes. I really don't want to use those, so I am curious if any other PA owners were able to get registered without the shields?

For those of you who do have shields, what did you buy and from whom? I assume that 29 inch length is correct for these (I have a Mark 4).
