I'm going out of my mind.
I ordered my kit in February 2012 after just over 3 years on the forums, reading, learning, listening. It's still in Pennsylvania, and will hopefully be getting crated and shipped on Monday. January-ish delivery date in the UK.
For the past few months, I've run out of things to do, things to read. There are no new parts getting created and sold by the vendors, I have almost one of everything (you lot really know how to make something a must have rather than a nice to have).
My garage is cleaned up, my body buck is built.
I feel like I've made it to the end of the internet. There is nothing else worth reading on the internet.
4-8 weeks to go before it arrives. I've got 3 weeks off work over Christmas, and the car isn't going to get here in time.
What am I going to do with myself for the next 8 weeks!?!? I'm going stir crazy!!!
Help!!!

Ha Ha....... I remember the feeling Martin. Take each of your tools out, clean them up, check to make sure that they work as intended, polish them to a shine, and then put them where they belong. Do this with every tool you have. If there is still time left, do the same with every loose nut and bolt in your garage. The car will be there before you know it. :) Oh, 1 more thing..................... Welcome to the Party!!!!

Done, done and done.
I have lost the plot today. The anticipation is killing me.

If you have not done this already, you may want to order your running gear including engine and trans etc. The build can move along very quickly and having access to the drive train will speed up your build for test fitting and layout of the engine bay, running fuel lines or if you are planning foot box mods etc, etc
Enjoy the anticipation - and don't rush the build. Before you know it you will be driving the beast

I have the gearbox (T56), and I'm aiming to have it all done by August 2013 except for body work and paint.
Engine will hopefully be with us by June (finances pending!)
What else does everyone read on the internet. I've spent well over 3000 hours reading the forums, now I have nothing left to read. It's like my child has left the house and I no longer have anyone to look after.

Take a break from the Cobra stuff for a while. Buy a good book and step a way from the forums for a couple weeks. Sometimes, you need to step away so you don't go nuts.

I might just have to do that.
Sounds like sensible advice.

Take up guitar? It worked for me, except now I'm spending all my money on things like Stratocasters, Telecasters, Les Pauls, and SGs!!!!!

Have you bought and read the new "Building a Cobra" book?
Can always pick up some pointers there.
wow! you ordered your kit in February and won't have it until the end of the year! That's patience!

Can I suggest that you make absolutely sure that all your permits and approvals to import a vehicle are in order. I too waited 7 months for my kit to reach Australia and then another agonising 8 weeks whilst Australian Customs sorted out a difference of opinion with our Federal Government. Bonded storage in Customs was costing me $280 a week. Be certain that you have all papers signed so there will be no misunderstandings when it lands.
My other suggestion is that being a Pommy sports car owner you can spend the remaining time looking for all those Motoring Badges you're going to display on your Badge Bar! I'm assuming that you already have the Kangol cap, Flying Jacket and Stringback driving gloves.
And if you don't already have one Unisteer will custom build a RHD Steering rack for you.
Cheers mate.

Have a garage party. Invite the local club to bring their cobras over for food and some consoling. They'd love to harass a new member and have an empty garage to work in on a Saturday night. Meet the guys! Can't do it once the garage is full!

Try to pick your exact paint color. That usually takes a few months.... When you are done with that, try to answer the age old question: Stripes or no stripes? Answered that? What color stripes?
That should keep you busy for a while.

Done that too. I've got a takamine steel string, a vigier Excalibur custom electric, and a nylon string guitar.
Just started teaching my kids to play as well.

Actually, as much as I think I have done that, you never can be too sure.

Actually, that probably is a bad idea. Ffr is hated in the UK. The local cobra guys are actually bordering on obnoxious and rude about ffr cars. In the UK, it is all about rover and jaguar donors.

I might try one more time when it arrives, but I'm not hopeful.

Take each of your tools out, clean them up,.....................
Best advice a father can give, "Son, keep your tool clean."
If you haven't already done so, paint your garage floor. My final decision happened fast. Then my delivery was speeded up because Stewart was back-logged and FFR had their truck heading my way. (Extra cool delivery) I don't see how I will ever get the floor painted now. But, I would rather be building my car.

... and on some seriously fine parts. I have both the self-cancelling turn signal and the throttle pedal, although I modified the pedal lever by making an original style curved metal foot pad with non-skid tape. Russ offers some great additions to these cars!

I tried Russ, but I don't think your turn signal can be made to work with a quick release steering wheel. Or has that been worked out since I last looked?
I've got a wilwood pedal box, hydroboost, and fast freddies electric power steering unit to provide the pump.for the brakes. What does your pedal do? Or is it just the pedal piece that you put your foot on?
