I purchased a Factory Five custom build which was completed in the mid 90's from a 'gentlemen' in Philadelphia. The donor car was a 89 Ford 5.0 GT (FI). The Problem: the Lemans type fuel cap does not have a pressure cap on the upper part of the lid and the bottom does not seem to have the capacity to have a traditional gas cap within the unit. Does anyone have the specs or a place I could locate the parts necessary to replace / repair the top portion only without having to buy an entirely new Lemans Fuel Cap assembly?

Although the LeMans gas cap was probably originally designed and used that way, at least for FFR's the LeMans cap by itself is not used to seal the gas filler. A separate normal gas cap is used under the LeMans cap. So the fact that your current LeMans cap isn't sealing may not be an issue if you have the inner gas cap. For the older LeMans cap versions (probably what you have) the gas cap didn't attach to the LeMans cap directly. The end of the gas tank filler tube, typically a donor part, extended inside the LeMans cap and the gas cap attached there. For the newer version of the LeMans cap, sold by FFR I think since Mark 3.0 or 3.1, the LeMans cap base is redesigned so that a gas cap can be screwed directly into it. Then there's a flange on the bottom for the filler tube to be attached with a flexible hose. Hopefully this makes sense. This picture shows what I mean.

I'm don't know where you can buy the parts separately.

Depending upon the series of FFR the company that FFR used to use is R&R Specialties. Their website is www.mustalgia.com. I know my Mk 3 uses their Le Mans cap, so you might be able to get repair parts from them directly. I actually used one of their caps on my son's '68 Mustang build. Nice conversion kit too! Look for the R&R stamping near the hinge of the cap. Even if it isn't their cap they might be able to help.

H hat,
I was curious: does the top part of your cap screw off the base? Also, do you not have any gaskets on the flip top part (you said it did not seal)? There was so much work to make my MKIII cap work on my project, I can't imagine you not being able to modify yours to work with a sealing gas cap hidden under the chrome one. Pics would be good. WEK.
