Going to Pick up my donor Friday

I swore I was going to wait till next year to get the donor....ya right!

I think the trip to FFR and sitting in the cars got me all fired up....

As luck would have it and since today is my Birthday....happy b-day to me! (assuming it drives as good as he says) - meeting up with the seller this friday.

2003 Subaru WRX 5speed. 197K Miles. Serviced regularly with Synthetic oil. Timing belt, tensioner, idler pulleys, waterpump replaced at 145K. COBB AccessPort, 292HP/303TQ, Blitz BOV, 20G Turbo, Bellmouth downpipe, 255lph Walbro fuelpump, Flowmaster Muffler. Also has a new clutch. 17" Enkie wheels. Daily driven. Needs work, Transmission has whine at 55-65MPH, needs flywheel( Has hotspots) and A/C needs serviced. I am planning of inspecting the tranny when we take it apart to do the 2WD conversion so I am not too worried about it. In any event the guy that owns it is driving it every day like it is. Total cost $3300!! Hopefully Friday I will add another post with it sitting in my driveway. :D

Sold the LOCOST last year, I had it on the road and tagged for 3 days and somebody wanted it...so the bay has been open for far too long. I am not sure about the rebuild yet...I may..we'll see how it feels and looks after we check it. THe engine seems like it's pretty simple to rebuild...so I might change to a 14 day build if we decide to go after the engine.

Eric, looks like people should head to AL for cars, who knew there were finds like that down there!! Looking forward to seeing your build. As far as getting the band back together, I am sure Mark would be up for the road trip! I think you need a camera crew to come down and film as well.
