Almost 60* in St. Louis today.
Installed my new motor mounts last night.
Took my passenger header over to Keith's brother this morning to have a new 02 sensor welded in. (Keith, can't thank you and your brother enough, Thanks Again!)
Painted the bung and installed the header this morning, dropped it off the jack-stands, tried to start it (oops, forget to connect the spark plugs! too excited). Ok, connected the spark plugs, fired it up and took it for a spin around the subdivision. :D

(my wife just doesn't appreciate this car! "It's awful noisy"
well, at least she held the camera for me)

I gotta get rid of that squeal, it's driving me crazy. It's the idler pulley, which I'm removing when I connect the PS pump.

Can't stop grinning! :D

Please allow me to be the first to congratulate you on the first drive. A giant step forward. Next is the body and you'll be on the road this coming spring. I see that you have what appears to be a set of 17" Halibrand style wheels. What was the source? I'm looking for a set of those for my car. As for the idler pulley noise, get used to stuff like that. These cars are a tinkerer's delight. There will always be something to tweak.

Thanks! Yep, my plan is streetable in the Spring. (I hope!)

They are the Halibrands from FFR. I went back and forth with the 15" vs 17". I like the look of the 15" wheels and tires better, especially the Goodyear Billboards, but I was concerned about availability and the 17" handle better.

Congrats on the successful go-kart! I like it when 2 neighbors came to the street and the "sure is noisy" comment. It's a thrill when the project becomes a car, eh?
Congrats!!
