Factory Five customer Patrick W. sent us some photos of a cruise he went on with some fellow Factory Five Roadster owners last week.

What was dubbed the “Unofficial End of the Driving Season” cruise, six Factory Five owners met up in Kent, CT then headed north to Great Barrington, MA for a fun day of driving and some lunch. A similar event happened last year as a bunch of customers took a ride to the Mill Brook Winery in Millbrook, NY.

Pat concluded his e-mail by noting that he put about 170 miles on the Roadster making sure that he took the least direct route possible. Pat’s not a big car show guy, but really enjoys getting together with fellow owners for a nice ride.

Thanks for sharing this great story and photos, Pat! Hope you get a few more driving weather days before the year ends.

Dave,

I drove mine yesterday over 175 miles just to roll the odometer over to 20,000+..........Could have just taken the 18 mile round trip to and from my old shop, but felt the need to do the roll over and clear my head at the same time.

Hey Bill,

Congrats on hitting over 20,000 miles on the odometer! Send me some pics at webmaster@factoryfive.com and we'll get a post up on our website.

Sounds like it was a great get to gether. Nice pics. Our driving season is really just begun but some "crazies" drive straight thru the summer (AZ). If I do, it will be very early or after dark. Thanks again for sharing. WEK.

Last winter was pretty mild here in New England that my Dad put off doing some work on his Mk3 Roadster because it was still ok driving weather. He just put the soft top on, a jacket, and out he went all winter long. He finally caved this fall and put the car up on jack stands to do the work he's been thinking about so that it'll all be ready when prime driving season starts up again next year. Who knows, maybe it'll be done in time for Moochfest and he can join the other "Snowmen" driving their cars to the factory in February.

What could be better??? Fun drive with great company. Maybe we'll have another warm weekend with dry roads before the snow sets in.
