The big Factory Five rig arrived back from SEMA late last night with Scott, a.k.a "Honey Badger", behind the wheel. As a result of the SEMA Show and the response to the 818 (AND the response to the Summit Mk4 and MuscleCar TV '33 Hot Rod) I've got some changes that I am making to our tactical plan. I'll have more details for you guys shortly.

First thing you gotta do is get an 818 on the side of that truck!

Dave can I come down and catch a glimpse of the 818 on friday? I will be making my way back from Dartmouth collision with a painted roadster.

Gotta get that strategery right! Don't envy you Dave, but as Leslie Nielsen said in Airplane... "good luck, we're all counting on you!!"

No really, we are!

Can't wait to hear what's new!

Steve

Mike, the 818S and 818R as well as the 818 rolling chassis from SEMA will be unloaded tomorrow (too nasty right now and we’ve got a pick-up and two crates in the loading area), so you can come by if you'd like to see them. The big truck is heading back West to deliver the flame 33 Hot Rod to Championship Autoshows HQ in Auburn Hills Michigan, then head to Utah to deliver 4 Mk4 Roadster kits to SKJ as a result of sales at SEMA, and then to LA to Hot Rod Magazine with the Summit Racing Mk4 for testing.

I have spent every second since SEMA doing math on both the 818 launch and the other projects I had committed to and was anxious to announce. Since buying out my brother, Ive been making HUGE changes to the company and investing in the tools we use and the products as well as the facility. This level of investment was something I was unable to do before, and now free to run the show, can put more money into the operations and into longer term investments. We are well positioned going forward.

The reception to the 818 was more than I expected and it merits additional resources and priority over some other projects. Still balancing all this is the real key and I don’t want to trip over my own feet. I have the exact list of 818 pre-orders and will be writing an update/information brief to those folks separately. Thanks for all the kind support. We won’t let you guys down.

I can't begin to describe to you all how proud I am of the crew and the effort unveiled at the SEMA show. Each model has its own path and it seems the Mk4 is enjoying it's rightful place at the top of the heap with the 33 Hot Rod gaining speed as more and more cars win races, shows, and get recognition. This is a fun time to be driving the bus.

I didn't want to ask until after SEMA, but does FFR have any plans for a fall or winter open house so some of us on-line gawkers can see the 818 in person and sit in it? Maybe get a ride in it? :D
