Trunk Support Arm Install

I had previously purchased one of the sliding type trunk lid support arms from Finish Line and want to go ahead and get it fitted before I remove the trunk lid for painting. No instructions came with the arm so was curious if anyone has one of these installed. Would appreciate any info and pics. I did see a pic of one installation but appears they had welded a piece of angle iron to the trunk loop to fasten one end of the arm. Was looking for an installation that didn't require welding.

Go to Replicaparts.com and check out the gas strut install. I have it on my FFR and it works perfectly. You might call them to see about one size heavier strut. It depends on the weight of your deck lid of course. Questions, call me @ 623/935-0865. Bill Bryan

Thanks Bill but kinda set on installing the original type sliding arm. Its sitting on my workbench just waiting for me to figure out how to get it installed.
