I live in Alabama. Just did an auto trader search for 2002-2007 Impreza and Impreza WRX w/manual trans and less than 60K miliage within 300 miles.
Got one hit! :(

Low mileage ones in the south are like hens teeth. I went the high mileage route and restored donor parts. Maybe not the cheap way to go but I know what I got. Good luck.

Got my Type 65 Coupe donor on a pallet from Northern California shipped to my home in Alabama. Don't let geography hold you back.
The scarcity of Subies around here of any vintage will make a Subie-based 818 that much more special. ;)

^ Agreed. I found one on the East Coast and had it shipped to me.

What's the best site to find wrecked or salvaged Imprezas?

For me instead of finding a complete wrecked car, I will be getting all my parts off NASIOC or iwsti.com or even rs25.com piece by piece. That way, I have more selection on what parts I like and don't like plus, I can sometimes get new parts instead of used ones.

there are several threads referring you to insurance sites here...
I used Copart.com had my donor shipped from Michigan to Maine 70K miles, $3500 delivered... damaged but needed parts: mirrors, steering rack, one lower front control arm, both rear lower lateral links

Yup, others beat me to it but buy a salvaged one and have it shipped.

Not bad at all really. You can get ALLL of that stuff cheap through partsgeek.com for aftermarket or salvaged through eBay. It also helps that the steering rack and control arms for early USDM WRX's were shared across several subaru models.
You shouldn't have trouble finding side mirrors either but I have an extra set if you get desperate.

Don't forget AJW donors website under venders. They might be a good option for you.

I already got everything other than the mirrors thanks to ebay...
sti al LCAs, adjustable rear lower transverse links, 2006 rack, mirrors are all over ebay... just not sure which ones I want. My donor stuff is well documented in the working on the donor thread
