Given this list of donor parts required, which ones have alternatives available that are lighter? If you know of one, specify it next to it and the weight saving you get with it. If you know the weights of the original pieces, list them next to it:
• Front spindles with full brakes and front lower control arms
• Rear spindles with brakes and e-brake handle/cables
• Steering rack, tie rod ends, and upper steering column assembly
• Pedal box and throttle pedal
• Master cylinder and brake booster, and clutch master cylinder
• Engine with turbo and intercooler (if WRX model)
• Exhaust manifolds, O2 sensors, and down tube
• Transmission
• Rear lower control arms, toe links, and CV joints
• Front seats, front seat belts, and gauge pod
• Fuel pump
• Radiator
• Wheels and tires
• Door hinges, front w/ latches, strikers, and inside door handles
• Side view mirrors, left and right
• Rear view mirror
I'm guessing one of the biggest weight savings will be seats.

• Front spindles with full brakes
-Unbolt dust shield and toss it (DD that way for 6 years no issue), saves .55lbs ea, free
-DBA 5000 2 piece rotors, saves ~1.5-2lbs per side, ~$500 - $800
• Rear spindles
-chisel/cut off spot welded dust sheild, ~.25lbs ea, free
• Engine with turbo and intercooler (if WRX model)
-lightweight crank pulley, saves ~1-4lbs, ~$100-$150
-Toss fuel rail cover (Green bracket of death, GBOD), saves 2.5lbs driver side, unsure of passenger side, free
-lightweight flywheel, saves decent amount of weight
-delete PS, AC
• Exhaust manifolds, O2 sensors, and down tube
-most aftermarket downpipes are lighter, catless are lightest
-a lot of tubular headers are lighter than cast units.
• Front seats
-Front seats are heavy with an integrated airbag, anything else is likely lighter
• Radiator
-Most aftermarket radiators are full aluminum and heavier
• Wheels and tires
-obvious answer here ;)

That's the best one. If you're aiming for lightweight, it makes sense not to have anything excessive, but if you're the one driving the car and you've got some extra pounds - you can make a pretty big difference right there.
I see this with sport bikes. Guys are trying to save 3 pounds on their bike weight, and like me, they're 30 to 40 lbs overweight. Start there! on the bike it lowers the CG as well!
Back to the thread though, the seats really have to be one of the biggest changes, right?

So should I call my car an 845? Between how I normally overbuild things and a few extra on me lthere is no way ot os going to be as light as a R version.

Yeah I dunno about the choice to keep the name 818. I get that it's caught on, but I can imagine having the same conversation over and over;
"why is it called 818S?"
"it stands for 818kg, or 1800lbs"
"so it weighs 818kg? Wow that's light"
"no, actually it's 809kg"
"so why didn't you call it a 809S"
....I walk away...
As for weight savings, I'm going with non adjustable racing buckets, but not anything to tightly bolstered. Looking at the pics it doesn't look like there's an inch of room behind the seats so I see no reason for paying for it. Also won't be using rails, I'm 6'2 and want to sit as low as possible, and I'm not concerned about someone else driving it.
Anyone with a donor stripped have a stock seat weight?

It was designed to 818. No matter what things decrease weight or add weight, it was still designed to 818. I think the name is very suitable.

factor in the weight of a coffin because with that diet and exersize plan you'll be dead within a month.

Of course put some creamy ranch dressing on your salads and maybe some protein.

It morphed from being about saving weight on the already light 818 to losing weight to ultimately gaining weight.... But, they're having fun here so I don't see anything wrong with it. Besides, you kinda created it....
